  • On October 18, 2002, the President of the Republic presented a government proposal for a rescue act to Parliament plus a number of associated amendments to other acts, an amendment to the emergency response centre act and a proposal for a fire prevention fund act. The regionalization of rescue operations requires the provisions governing the Rescue Services Act and other acts linked with rescue services to be amended to correspond with the new system. Due to the numerous amendments required, it is proposed that the Rescue Services Act is replaced with a new rescue act.
